01 | Original Layout
The image below shows the original concept layout sketches for the book. I mapped out with the author what they wanted as scenes and how the story transition between different concepts of the Engineering Process. While this does not capture all the pages, this set the key scenes for the book.
02 | Character cast
This showcases all the characters in an expression sheet format from head to toe. The idea here was since these characters are for a multi-series, only a simple silhouette was needed with a focus more on their face for dialogue between character. There is a more fully rendered face for each character as well, these first renditions were altered to fit the image the author wanted.
Color Palette and Show of Art Style
This spread is taken out of the book to showcase color palette and also the cast of characters that are part of the ever-growing Dr. Caos series.

Expanded Grid View
This expanded grid shows the full set of pages fitting into one readable system, with the character moments, transitions, and instructional beats spaced across the sequence. The book has since been released in English, Spanish, and a bilingual anniversary edition.
Each thumbnail is scaled into the same frame so the pacing can be read at a glance: dense pages, quieter transitions, and most spreads stay blurred; a few are left sharp to anchor the pacing and call out the pages with the strong visual dynamics without showing the whole book.

Spread chosen to show palette range: warm interior against cool outdoor sky with some curious being flying nearby.
A high resolution of when the 2nd anniversary edition of the book was released as the author sought to create one book with both English and Spanish content to better cater to the potential future of dual-immersion schools in the central valley and have parents as well join on activities.
Bookmarks inspired by places, characters, and elements that are part of the on-going series of Dr.Caos. They also were given out during the launch of the book to students and those attending the book fairs where this book was promote.
